Reason for Serving

I feel called. Having developed relationships with many of our community leaders, I believe I can communicate with and support them effectively, while also helping us more intentionally welcome, know, and serve newer members of our parish family. I believe God has prepared me for this service through three areas of experience: leadership as Science Department Head at a Christian classical school; 21+ years of experience as a Navy Civil Engineer Corps officer, including developing and executing capital improvement programs; and many years of participating in and leading parish ministries focused on the New Evangelization. Together, these experiences should have equipped me to ideally connect leadership, strategic planning, and evangelization in service to the future of our parish.

Skills and Traits

Over 37 years of service as an engineer, Navy officer, Christian classical educator, and parish ministry leader have equipped me with a breadth of experience and skills that I believe could be valuable to our Pastoral Council.

Goals

I would strive to pursue those goals/priorities established by Archbishop Gustavo Garcia-Siller and Father Chris Munoz.

I would recommend three primary areas of focus:

Strengthen the Parish Family — Next 3 Years: Build a vibrant parish culture that welcomes and integrates new parishioners, deepens discipleship, improves communication, develops ministry leaders, and strengthens engagement among families, youth, and adults. During this period, establish a comprehensive strategic plan to guide the parish's long-term capital improvement program.

Build a Sustainable Parish for Continued Growth — Next 5 Years: Develop the ministries, facilities, leadership, and strategies necessary to support sustained spiritual and physical growth. Establish coordinated evangelization and discipleship processes, develop the next generation of parish leaders, strengthen ministries, and begin executing priority capital improvements.

Position St. Joseph Honey Creek for Future Generations — Next 10 Years: Advance the capital improvement program, potentially including recapitalized roads and utilities, construct a new ~20,000-square-foot community center, a K–12 school, and renovations to existing facilities. At the same time, position St. Joseph Honey Creek to be a leading Christian missionary parish—continually welcoming new families, forming intentional disciples, developing leaders, stewarding its fiscal and infrastructure resources, and extending its Catholic witness throughout our rapidly growing community.

SCIENCE DEPARTMENT HEAD AND TEACHER AT GENEVA SCHOOL OF BOERNE – 2016 TO PRESENT

PRESIDENT/OWNER, KADO SOLUTIONS, LLC & KADO ABODE, LLC — 2013 TO 2016 Established two privately owned companies specializing in life cycle facility management consulting services.

VICE PRESIDENT, LNV, INC, SAN ANTONIO, TEXAS — 2010-2013 Established the Federal, Energy, Mechanical & Electrical Engineering and Asset Management Divisions for the privately owned Texas Design-Build firm.

[Retired in September 2010 as a United States Navy Commander with twenty-one (21) years of service.]

ASSISTANT REGIONAL ENGINEER, NDW REGION, WASHINGTON D. C. — 2008-2010 Decision maker for a $300,000,000 annual budget managing programs that sustain facilities at twenty-three (23) Navy installations at five (5) major bases, including Camp David, United States Vice President's residence, and the United States Naval Academy. Created, programmed, and began execution of a capital improvements program that included refinement or development of $3,250,000,000 in capital improvement projects, $1,880,000,000 in restoration & repair projects, and $1,090,000,000 in public private ventures and energy ventures.

FUTURE OPERATIONS FOR NAVY INSTALLATIONS COMMAND, WASHINGTON D. C. — 2006-2008 Created and established Initial Operating Capability (IOC) for "Command and Control and Protection Ashore" (C2P Ashore), a $50M/year Navy shore enterprise program. IOC included manning, training, and equipment required to deliver the "C2P Ashore" program to twelve (12) Navy Regions and seventy-nine (79) Navy Installations around the globe, thus significantly enhancing the Navy's response to any hazard of National significance (such as, hurricanes, typhoons, volcanoes, earth-quakes, civil unrest, terrorism, etc.). Managed $280M/year Fire and Emergency Service and Emergency Management Programs worldwide.

EXECUTIVE OFFICER FOR A BATTALION, PORT HUENEME, CALIFORNIA — 2004-2006 The executive officer and second in command of a construction battalion of over 800 service men, women and their families. Deployed twice with over half the battalion in Iraq.

ASSIGNMENT OFFICER (DETAILER), MEMPHIS, TENNESSEE — 2002-2004

PROGRAM MANAGEMENT OFFICER, SIGONELLA, ITALY 2004-2006 Established the Program Management Office to manage "cradle to grave" aspects for the $670,000,000 facilities recapitalization program to rebuild two military bases in Sicily, Italy.
