Metas

Biografía

Nací en San Antonio, Texas. De niño asistí a la Escuela Católica Holy Spirit y me gradué de Antonio College Prep. Me enlisté en la Marina y recibí mi nombramiento como oficial en 1984. Después serví en buques navales con base en Yokosuka, Japón, hasta 1989, cuando fui reasignado a Washington D.C. para trabajar en Ventas Militares al Extranjero. En 1993 dejé la Marina y regresé a casa para ayudar a manejar el negocio mayorista de floristería de mis padres. Después de siete años con ellos, seguí adelante con mis propios proyectos de negocio. Durante los últimos 20 años he sido dueño de una empresa que produce y distribuye productos químicos y equipo para lavado y detallado de autos. Llevo 30 años casado, tengo tres hijas y cuatro nietos.

Involvement

I have helped to sell T-Shirts and raffle Tickets for the parish Festival. My wife and I have mentored couples getting married in the Church. In other parishes I have been on the CYO board and coached in the CYO. I am a member of the Knights of Columbus. I am helping with Behold. At a parish in Alexandria Virginia I did Religious education for the High School kids.

Reason for Serving

I believe I can help with the transition and growth the parish is currently going through. This will be an interesting time for the parish and it would be nice to be a part of keeping us cohesive while maintaining the roots and history of the parish. There are a lot of things a fast growing parish needs and I think some of my skills can help.

Skills and Traits

I think my background in business would be an asset to the parish council team and my involvement in other activities in our parish and at other parishes may give some insight that the council might be able to use.

Goals

The first things I think any parish council should want to accomplish is to bring more people to Christ. How do we get those Catholics in the area back to the church? Then how do we show other non-Catholics in our area that our parish is a way to become closer to the truth and Christ. In the next 3 to 10 years, I'd like to see our parish become the example of a true Christian and Catholic life.

Biography

I was born in San Antonio, Texas. Attended Holy Spirit Catholic School as a child and graduated from Antonio College Prep. I enlisted in the Navy and received a commission in 1984. Subsequently, I served on Naval Vessels home ported out of Yokosuka Japan until 1989 when I was reassigned to Washington D.C. to do Foreign Military Sales. In 1993 I left the Navy and returned home to help run my parents Wholesale Floral Business. After seven years with them, I went on to pursue my own business ventures. For the past 20 years I have owned a company that produces and distributes Car Wash and detail chemicals and equipment. I have been married for 30 years, have three daughters and four grandchildren.
